Sara Davis
Assistant Coach

Hometown: Harlan, IA
High School: Harlan
Alma Mater: Iowa Western/Grand View College
Degree: BA in Elementary Education

Iowa Central is proud to have Sara Davis as its assistant women's basketball coach. She will be entering her ninth year with the Tritons this season. She was formerly a player at Iowa Western Community College and after a stellar career there, she transferred to Grand View College in Des Moines.

While at Grand View, Sara was a two year starter under former coach Missy Sharer and current head coach, Garey Smith. In the 1999-2000 season, she led the Vikings in scoring (13.5 ppg), assists (4.0 apg) and steals (2.2spg). She was honored for her efforts by being named to the MCC All-Conference first team, the Lutheran Brotherhood All-American first team, and the NAIA All-American third team. Sara helped the Vikings to an MCC Championship game appearance in the 2000-2001 season, when she led the team in scoring and rebounding and was second on the team in assists.

Those efforts didn't go unnoticed either as she was named to the MCC All-Conference team for a second time and was named to the 2001 NAIA District IV Kodak All-American Team.

Head Coach Craig Carlson on Sara Davis: "Sara Davis is a top-notch coach who knows what it takes to succeed at this level and the next. In her ninth year as Triton Assistant Coach she brings her own brand of positive energy as well as an important sense of continuity and quality to the program. We are proud to have Sara working with us to help build the ICCC program."

Alicia Onnen
Assistant Coach

Alicia Onnen will be entering her third year as a Triton assistant coach.

Onnen, a Manson NW Webster prep, returns to Iowa Central where she was a two-year starter and Second Team All-Region XI performer for head coach Craig Carlson. After her two successful years as a Triton she transferred to Grand View University in Des Moines where she was also a two-year starter for head coach Garey Smith. Onnen was named All-MCC Honorable Mention as she lead the team in three-pointer (61) and steals (49). She was named captain both at Iowa Central and Grand View.

Onnen was also very successful off the court as she was an Academic All-American as both a basketball and softball player at Iowa Central. In 2009 she was named NAIA Scholar Athlete for Grand View where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing.

“Alicia is a great addition to our coaching staff,” said Carlson. “I am happy to have her back at Iowa Central. She will have a positive impact on our young guards.”
